According to CorPower Ocean—the wave energy technology developer, the Saoirse Wave Energy project will demonstrate wave energy and the chosen technology for deployment is CorPower Ocean’s Wave Energy Converter.

The project will initially see a 5 MW wave farm array deployed off the Co Clare coast. The company says that Ireland has up to 18 GW of wave resources off its west coast.
The project will be a joint venture between ESB and Simply Blue Group.
ESB—a statutory body under the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927, majority owned by the Irish Government.
Simply Blue Group, headquartered in Cork, Ireland. It develops offshore wind, sustainable fuels, marine energy, carbon dioxide removal, and low-impact aquaculture projects.
